Erling Haaland’s £63 million move to Manchester City is expected to be announced later this week.
After City paid the release clause in his Dortmund contract, the Norwegian striker, 21, will join Pep Guardiola’s squad for the start of pre-season.
Last month, Sportsmail reported that City had reached an agreement with Haaland’s representatives and that he would become the Premier League’s highest-paid player, earning more than £500,000 per week on a five-year contract.
City and Dortmund have held talks, and the Bundesliga club is expecting confirmation that the £63 million fee will be paid to activate his release.
Haaland is one of the most prolific goal scorers in world football, with 85 goals in 88 appearances for Dortmund over two and a half years. In recent months, he has been linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United, but has chosen to join the reigning English champions.
